crushity crush crush

She should be my best friend. Best dance moves EVER. Her concert at the Hollywood Bowl last weekend was glorious! She even did her 90s hit "Show Me Love" as her final encore!

Awesome acapella cover version. Are all Swedes amazing?

Treat Yo Self 2011

The big exciting news is that I'm engaged! And it happened- more or less- on my birthday last Friday. It was wonderful and so is Johnny. We're both super excited and actually a lot of the way through most of the planning. It's going to be small and a ton of fun.

We took some engagement photos already too, though I've only gotten to see a few. Here are some super cute ones for your enjoyment!

1. Leah Goren custom-made cat dress, American Apparel opaque tights in paprika, Aldo wannabe Madewell desert sandstorm boots
2. UO lace tent blouse, American Apparel pleated pants, thrifted oxfords
3. Alexa Chung for Madewell 2010 Tennessee Dress

And now I leave you with some great advice.

fall la la la la

So October is off to a great start! So much so that I don't have much time for blogging and updating and commenting and such. I did, however, do part one of a double photo shoot yesterday, which you guys will get to see next week sometime, along with some important news! So be on the lookout. It's coming and I'm super excited about it! The second part of the shoot won't be for two weeks, so then you'll get another treat by the end of the month.

Anyway, these pictures coming up are a couple weeks old, but here you go anyway! :) Apple picking and pumpkin patching and food-truckin' :)

this is my idea of fun

The winner of the Alexa Chung Eyes Eyes Eyes pouch is Suzanna from Something That Needs Nothing. (The title of her tumblr sounds like a Miranda July story!) Congrats to her and thanks everyone for entering!

And now I'm off to see Beirut at the beautiful Greek Theater in Griffith Park. See ya later!

Here's some great-- non-Beirut-- music to listen to. Super great!

“I read," I say. "I study and read. I bet I've read everything you read. Don't think I haven't. I consume libraries. I wear out spines and ROM-drives. I do things like get in a taxi and say, "The library, and step on it." My instincts concerning syntax and mechanics are better than your own, I can tell, with all due respect. But it transcends the mechanics. I'm not a machine. I feel and believe. I have opinions. Some of them are interesting. I could, if you'd let me, talk and talk.”
